  • Ok, so I have the 4 month old Australian Shepherd and the lady is really hard to train. I understand naturally Aussies are really smart dogs plus catch on to things quick. It' ersus not that she isn' t smart, mainly because when she figures things out she' h just right. The only problem is the lady gets really excited and can' t concentrate. All she wants to do is breeze at the treats and it' s therefore frustrating because not only is she not really learning the tricks efficiently, she is chomping my fingers off! The only commands the lady knows are the basic sit and straight down. I try to teach her other routines like stay, come, heel, etc. but the girl actually is just too much. Please provide me some pointers! Thank you so much: ))

MY PARTNER & I POSSESS A 10MO. MIXED THAT SHOWED UP one DAY AT OUR LITTLE RANCH IN CENTERVILL TX…. IT WAS VERY COLD AND POURING; SHE WAS SKINNY, COLD, AND HUNGRY. THEREFORE WE FED HER AND LET HER REMAIN ON OUR PATIO IN A BOX ALONG WITH A BLANKET,,,,,, WELL, THE NEXT THING I actually KNOW WE TOOK HER IN, THEN HAD TAKEN HER TO THE VET TO GET THE GIRL CHECHED OUT…….. (ALL OK) BUT SHE GOT A CHIP & WHEN THE VET TRYED TO GET THE OWNER OR OWNERS THESE PEOPLE DID-NOT WANT HER AT ALL & STATED WE COULD KEEP HER, THEN WE DISCOVERED OUT THAT SHE WAS BOUGHT AT The PUPPY MILL. THE POOR DOG MUST HAVE GOT BEEN BEATEN OR WHIPPED….. THIER WERE two OWNERS: THE VERY FIRST BOUGHT HER THROUGH THE PUPPY MILL AND THEN SOLD THE GIRL TO THE SECOND OWNER WHO DID NOT REALLY WANT HER AND SAID IF WE NEEDED HER WE’RE ABLE TO KEEP HER. THE GIRL IS A VERY LOVEABLE DOG AND ARE USUALLY JUST CRAZY ABOUT HER, BUT SHE APPEARS SCARED OF US SOMETIMES AND RARELY ARRIVES TO US WHEN CALLED. SHE WILL SIGN UP FOR US ON THE SOFA AND SET THE GIRL HEAD IN OUR LAPS. SHE SNUGGLES BECAUSE MUCH AS US AND NUZZLES US WHENEVER SHE WANTS ATTENTION WHEN WE LOVE UPON OUR OTHER TWO DOGS (SHITS-ZUH AND VERWEIS TERRIER WHICH ARE BOTH ABOUT 8 YRS OLD. WE SHOW EQUAL ATTENTION TO ALL OF THREE DOGS.

THE QUESTIONS IS: WILL SHE EVERY GROW THROUGH THIS AND WHAT CAN WE DO APART FROM LOVE ON HER BEHALF AND GIVE THE GIRL ATTENTION. SHE IS VERY SHY AND FRIGHTENED. SHE HAS HER OWN BED AND ALL OF US PLAY RADIO STATIONS FOR HER AT EVENING PLUS SHE HAS A MULTITUDE OF PLAYTHINGS. WE TRIED PLAYING BALL AND FRIZZBY ALONG WITH HER, BUT SHE HIDES.

THE VET SAYS SHE IS 10-12 MONTHS OLD; HOWEVER, SHE ACTS AS ALTHOUGH SHE IS 6 MONTHS OLD WHEN THE GIRL PLAYS (SHE WILL RUN AROUND AND OPERATE AS THOUGH SHE IS A JUMPING BEAN). WE TAKE HER IN FOR HER RABIES SHOTS TOMORROW. ANY ADVICE YOU CAN PROVIDE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

    THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!

Also don`t give too many goodies. Only give when she gets an physical exercise right 100%. Keep the treats in the bag round your waist and not a person are holding. Make her work really difficult to get a treat

Add: Your dog is only four months old!
Be patient, the girl is still very much a baby. The lady will calm down a bit as the girl gets older and will be able in order to concentrate more. Just teach the basics meant for now as there is plenty of period to do advanced stuff. Enrol in the good dog club that teaches obedience.

This is not the dog, it is the particular trainer.

Your very first mistake is using treats. There are trained canines from basic obedience all the way because much as advanced Police dog work & I have NEVER used a treat. By no means.

The dog is usually so focused on the treat that the rest is blocked from his mind.

You just need to find out a little bit more than you know now & find out how to speak with your dog. You possess to know what you are to perform to get your dog to respond in order to commands.

I' m afraid the particular problem isn' t her sweetie; )

You have to end up being consistant within your training, reward er when the lady does it right, and punish her to get biting your hand. Don' t pull the particular treat away when she snaps, becasue that will teach her to jump. Instead provide it to her and if she attacks you, smack her on the nose plus tell her " don' t bite" or even " no" within a firm voice. It is certainly usually nessesary to have breaks between exercising sesions if they have trouble focusing. Teah for like 10 minutes, then play pertaining to a while then teach for 10 a lot more, then call it a day, You are usually able to fine tune that to the girl needs, It' s just like you possess trouble listening to a boring hour lengthy lecture, but no problem staying in track for 5 minutes. Also do one technique at a time, to keep from confuing her. If you have a question upon specific tricks please contact me through con! Answers.

I have an Foreign too. I' ve had him since he or she was 4months old & his is two now. He was super independent as the puppy. I didn' t start training your pet until later (about 7 or 8 months). Aussies are high strung dogs. I' ve learned to help burn off my canines energy by playing fetch before training. It offers helped a ton. He sits through instruction without having to be too much associated with a spaz. I have the same issue with my dog with the treats as well. I get my hand chomped at & teeth shown at me on a normal basis. Try giving your puppy a deal with a flat palm so fingers are usually out of the way!
